Glades County Emergency Medical Services proudly provides professional Advance Life Support with two units on standby 24/7. One is stationed in Moore Haven, and the other is stationed on Pollywog Crossover at SR29.
For the last 18 years, Glades County EMS has operated under the medical guidelines of Glades County Medical Director Dr. Joseph Lemmons, a Board Certified Emergency Room Physician with 25 years experience.
Glades County has nine full-time Paramedics with a combined total of 142 years’ experience, and four EMTs with a combined total of 20 years experience. Glades EMS responds to more than 1500 calls annually, transporting patients to nine different hospitals in five counties.
Every two years, Florida Department of Emergency Medical Services performs an on-site review of EMS records, equipment and personnel procedures. Glades County EMS exceeds the minimum requirements in education and training including administering the medications we carry.
